ORDINANCE NO. 665
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TROY, KANSAS, VACATING THE ALLEY IN BLOCK 44 AND VACATING A PORTION OF 7TH STREET SITUATED BETWEEN BLOCKS 44 AND 55 ALL IN THE EAST TROY ADDITION TO THE ORIGINAL TOWN, NOW CITY OF TROY, DONIPHAN COUNTY, KANSAS
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Troy, Kansas has determined that vacation of the alley in Block 44 and vacation of that portion of 7th Street situated between Blocks 44 and 55 in the East Troy Addition to the Original Town, now City of Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas, would promote beneficial development and be in the best interests of the City of Troy; and,
WHEREAS, there are no utilities in or served by the alley or section of street proposed to be vacated by this Ordinance nor is any significant public benefit being derived from said alley or section of street.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF TROY, KANSAS:
1. That the alley in Block 44 and that portion of 7th Street located between Block 44 and Block 55 in the East Troy Addition to the Original Town, now City of Troy, Kansas, and more specifically described as: Beginning at the Northeast Corner of Block 44, thence easterly to the Northwest Corner of Block 55, thence southerly to the Southwest Corner of Block 55, thence Westerly to the Southeast Corner of Block 44, thence Northerly to the point of beginning, are hereby vacated.
2. That in accord with the terms and provisions of K.S.A. 15-427 the vacated alley and the vacated portion of 7th Street shall revert to the owner or owners of the real estate thereto adjacent on each side.
3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its publication in The Kansas Chief, the official city newspaper.
