Ord 440 Peddlers

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF TROY, KANSAS REGULATING SOLICITORS AND PEDDLERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBERS 183 AND 239 OF THE CITY OF TROY, KANSAS..

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF TROY, KANSAS.

SECTION ONE.        The practice of going in and upon private premises in the City of Troy, Kansas, by solicitors, peddlers, hawkers, itinerant merchants or transient vendors of merchandise not having been requested or invited so to do by the owner or owners, occupants or occupants, of said private premises for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods,wares and merchandise and/or disposing of and/or peddling or hawking the same is declared to be a nuisance and punishable as such nuisance as a misdemeanor.

SECTION TWO.        Any person violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) or imprisoned not more than thirty (30) days or be both so fined and imprisoned.

SECTION THREE.    Ordinance numbers 183 and 239 of the City of Troy, Kansas are hereby repealed.

SECTION FOUR.      This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage, approval and publication in the Kansas Chief.
