Ordinance No. 83
An Ordinance in Relation to Building Sidewalks in the City of Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Section 1.
The owners of property fronting on the east side of Main Street are hereby directed to build a sidewalk, commencing at the northwest corner of Block Twenty-three (23) in the City of Troy, Kansas, thence running south on the east side of Main Street to the depot of the Chicago, Kansas & Nebraska Railroad Company.
Section 2.
Said sidewalk shall be five feet, four inches (5 ft. 4 in.) wide, and shall be constructed of plank two inches thick.
Section 3.
Said sidewalk shall be built within ninety (90) days from the time this ordinance takes effect. If it is not built within that time, the city authorities shall proceed to construct the sidewalk as required by law.
Section 4.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.

Ordinance No. 87
An Ordinance in Relation to Building Sidewalks in the City of Troy
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Section 1.
The owners of property fronting on the streets hereinafter named, and on the sides of streets designated, are hereby directed and required to build sidewalks as follows:
- Commencing at the northeast corner of Block Forty (40), thence running south on the west side of Main Streetto State Street.
- Commencing at the northeast corner of Block Sixteen (16), thence running south on the west side of Seneca Street to Poplar Street, thence west on the north side of Poplar Street to Centre Street, thence south on the east side of Centre Street to State Street, thence west on the south side of State Street to Park Street.
- Commencing at the southeast corner of Block Eleven (11), thence running west on the north side of Walnut Street to Park Street.
- Commencing at the southwest corner of Block One (1), Troy Proper, thence running south on the east side of Liberty Street to Poplar Street, thence west on the north side of Poplar Street to Seneca Street.
- Commencing at the northeast corner of Block Twenty-three (23), thence running west on the south side of Chestnut Street to Main Street.

- Commencing at the northeast corner of Block Twenty-three (23), thence running south on the west side of Liberty Street to the St. Joseph & Grand Island Railroad depot.
- Commencing at the southwest corner of Block One (1), Troy Proper, thence running east on the north side of Myrtle Street to Second Street, in East Troy.
- Commencing at the southeast corner of Block Three (3), East Troy, thence running north on the west side of First Street to Elm Street, thence west on the north side of Elm Street to Main Street, in Troy Proper.
Section 2.
Said sidewalks shall be built not less than three (3) feet wide, of two-inch plank, or of rock or brick, except:
- on Walnut Street from Liberty Street to Main Street, and
- on Main Street from Walnut Street to Poplar Street,
where sidewalks shall be not less than ten (10) feet wide.
Section 3.
All sidewalks now built which do not conform to the requirements of Section 2 of this ordinance, if in good condition, shall be allowed to remain until such time as the Council may deem it proper to order new sidewalks constructed.
Section 4.
The sidewalks provided for in Section 1 of this ordinance shall be built within thirty (30) days after this ordinance takes effect. If they are not built within that time, the city authorities shall proceed to construct them as authorized by law.
Section 5.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.
