Ordinance No. 71

An Ordinance Prohibiting Digging in Streets and Alleys

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:

Section 1.

It shall be unlawful for any person to dig in, or remove from, any street or alley in the City of Troy any sod or earthwithout the consent of the City.

It shall also be unlawful for any person to dig in or remove from any vacant lot in the City any earth or sod without the consent of the owner of such lot.

Any person so offending shall, upon conviction, be fined not exceeding ten dollars ($10.00) for each offense.

Section 2.

This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.
