An Ordinance Relating to The Parking of Automobiles and The Manner of Driving Automobiles on Certain Streets in The City of Troy, Kansas, and Providing Penalties for The Violation Thereof.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas:
Sec. 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to park or permit their car to be parked on Main Street from Doniphan north to Mulberry, or Liberty from Kansas north to Locust; on Borno Street from Main east to Liberty; and on Kansas Street from Main east to Liberty, except as in the manner hereinafter set out.
Sec. 2. That any person or persons parking or causing to be parked an automobile on the above described streets shall park said automobile in the center of said streets at right angles to the direction in which said automobile was traveling before parking.
Sec. 3. That in leaving said parking space, it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to back out of said parking space, but any person who is driving an automobile parked in said parking shall leave said parking space by driving in the direction said car is facing, and shall immediately upon quitting said parking space, turn to the left.
Sec. 4. That any person driving any automobile or truck on the above described streets shall when unloading or loading any truck or automobile in front of any business house, park said automobile or truck against the curb at not more than an angle of thirty-five (35) degrees, and facing the direction they were traveling before parking, and shall remain there for a period not longer than fifteen (15) minutes.
Sec. 5. That it shall be unlawful for any person driving a car on the above described streets to turn said car around at any place between the intersections of said streets, but any person driving a car on said streets in the City of Troy, Kansas, shall in order to turn said car around, drive to the intersection and there turn said car around.
Sec. 6. All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with the foregoing are hereby repealed.
Sec. 7. That any person found guilty of violating any of the above provisions shall be fined not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) or confined in the County Jail for not less than one (1) day nor more than twenty-five (25) days.
Sec. 8. That if any part of this Ordinance shall be held void or unconstitutional, the remaining sections shall remain in full force and effect.
Sec. 9. This Ordinance shall take effect and shall be in full force from and after its publication in the Kansas Chief.
