Ordinance #227
An Ordinance relating to the obstruction of the streets, alleys and sidewalks of the City of Troy and fixing the penalty for the violation of same and repealing Ordinance #134 of said City.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Sec. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to obstruct any pavement or sidewalk in the City of Troy by placing or causing pavement or sidewalk, or permitting the same to be placed, or to remain on sidewalk of his, her, or its premises, or place of business, any boxes, barrels, or merchandise for other storage.
Sec. 2. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to obstruct any of the streets or alleys, or parts of streets or parts of alleys, in the City of Troy, by placing in said streets parts of streets, alleys, or parts of alleys any boxes, barrels or merchandise or other things.
Sec. 3. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined the sum of not less than Five Dollars nor more than Twenty-five Dollars upon conviction of said offense.
Sec. 4. Ordinance #134 relating to obstructing streets, alleys and sidewalks is hereby repealed.
Sec. 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication in the Kansas Chief.
Passed by the Council and approved by the Mayor this 23 day of April A.D. 1924.
