An ordinance relating to the licensing of pool and billiard halls and bowling alleys, and repealing all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Kansas:

Sec. I. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to conduct or operate a pool hall, billiard hall, bowling alley or alleys or other place or places where tables or devices are kept for the purpose of playing billiards, pool or other games with balls and cues, or bowling, without first having obtained a license therefor as hereinafter provided.

Any person, firm or corporation desiring to conduct or operate any such pool hall, billiard hall, bowling alley or alleys or other place or places where tables or devices are kept for the purpose of playing billiards, pool or other games with balls and cues, or bowling, shall make application to the Mayor and Councilmen for a license to conduct such place or places, which application shall state the name of the applicant and the place where such pool hall, billiard hall, bowling alley or alleys or other place or places are to be located and shall be accompanied by the sum of Twenty-five Dollars, and the City Clerk shall issue a license to such applicant upon the approval of the Mayor and Councilmen.

Sec. II. No minor under the age of eighteen years shall be permitted to play pool, billiards or bowl in any pool hall, billiard hall or bowling alley in the City of Troy, Kansas, and no person operating any such place shall permit any minor under the age of eighteen years to play therein.

An ordinance relating to the driving of live stock through certain streets in the city, forbidding the trespassing of stock on parking and private property and fixing penalties for violations.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas:

Sec. I. That it shall be unlawful to drive or permit to be driven horses, cattle, hogs or sheep along or upon any of the streets of Troy, except on such streets as are designated herein. That in taking horses, cattle, hogs or sheep to and from the stock yards of the railroads in the City of Troy, when said stock is moved on foot said stock shall be driven along the following named streets so far as may be necessary, and over no other routes than the intersections, to-wit: High Street, Seneca Street, Court Street, that part of Chestnut Street between High Street and Seneca Street; that part of Walnut Street between High Street and Seneca Street; that part of State Street between Seneca and Second Street; that part of Seneca Street between State Street and Boone Street, and that part of Boone Street between Second Street and the city limits on the east.

Sec. II. That in taking horses, cattle, hogs or sheep through said named streets, or foot, the owner or owners of said stock and the driver thereof must provide sufficient guards for said stock so as to prevent said stock, or any of said stock, from going upon or over the parking on said streets, or onto private property, and the passing of horses, either loose or ridden, or of cattle, or of hogs or of sheep onto or across the parking, or any street or onto any private property is hereby forbidden and to—

declared a nuisance.

Sec. III. That the driving of a milk cow or milk cows to or from pasture or for any other purpose, over the streets and alleys of the City of Troy is hereby forbidden and declared a nuisance, except that said cow or cows may be driven over said streets and alleys only while in the immediate charge; while on said streets or alleys of a driver or drivers so as to prevent said cow or cows from loitering on the streets and alleys or from pasturing on the streets and alleys or from passing onto the parking on any street or onto the private property of any person other than the owner of said cow or cows.

Sec. IV. Any person or persons who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance, or shall do or permit to be done by any agent or employee any of the things forbidden to be done herein, or shall fail to do any of the things required to be done, shall be adjudged guilty of a violation of this ordinance and shall on conviction for a violation of any one of the provisions hereof, shall be fined in a sum not in excess of $25.00 and stand committed until said fine and costs are paid.

Sec. V. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the foregoing is hereby repealed.

Sec. VI. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication once in the Kansas Chief.
