Ordinance No. 22
An Ordinance Relating to the Police Judge and Procedure in His Court
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Section 1. The Police Judge shall be a conservator of the peace and shall have exclusive original jurisdiction to hear and determine all offenses against the ordinances of this city.
The mode of procedure for his court shall be as provided in Chapter 60, Laws of Kansas, 1872, relating to cities of the third class, and the laws governing the competency of witnesses shall be the same as in trials of criminal cases before Justices of the Peace.
The Police Judge and witnesses shall receive the same fees as in Justices’ Courts, provided that in no case shall the city be liable for any costs or witness fees.
Section 2. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in pamphlet form.
