Ordinance No. 219
An ordinance granting permission to the Standard Oil Company a corporate organized and doing business under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Indiana, to erect and maintain on the property described below warehouses, tanks and other buildings necessary for the conduct of its business, and to store therein illuminating oils, naphtha, gasoline or any other oils or fluids, the products of petroleum, in quantities to meet the requirements of its business.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen in the City of Troy in the County of Doniphan, State of Kansas:
Sec. I. That permission and authority is hereby given and granted to the Standard Oil Company, a corporation organized and doing business under and by virtue of the laws of the State of Indiana, to construct and maintain for a term of fifty years on the following described property within the city limits of Troy, County of Doniphan, State of Kansas—to wit:
Beginning at a point 123 ft. measured northerly along the west line of Main Street from its intersection with the center line of the Leavenworth main line track, said intersection being located at Valuation Station 716 plus 54.9 (50), thence westerly at right angles to said west line of Main Street one hundred and five (105) feet, thence southeasterly on a line at right angles to the center line of the Leavenworth stock track ninety (90) feet to a point eight and five tenths (8.5) measured northerly at right angles from the center line of said stock track fifty (50) feet; thence northwesterly at right angles one hundred (100) feet to the west line of Lot 5, thence northerly along the west line of Lot 5 fifty (50) feet, thence easterly at right angles one hundred and fifty (150) feet to the west line of Main Street fifty (50) ft. to point of beginning.
Warehouses, tanks and other buildings necessary for its business, and to store illuminating oils, coal oils, naphtha, gasoline, or any other mineral oils or fluids, the products of petroleum, in quantities sufficient to meet the requirements of said company’s business.
Sec. II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Sec. III. This ordinance shall be in force and effect on and after its passage and acceptance in writing by said Standard Oil Company
