Ordinance No. 213
An ordinance establishing fire limits and repealing Ordinance No. 105.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Kansas:
Sec. I. That hereafter it shall be unlawful for any person, partnership or corporation to erect or cause to be erected or placed within certain limits in the City of Troy, hereinafter designated as fire limits, any building or structure constructed of any material except stone or other incombustible material and with fire proof roof.
Sec. II. That said fire limits be designated as follows: Lots 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 in Block 1, East ½ of Blk. 12, East ½ of Blk. 15, East ½ of Block 22. Lots 3, 6, 7, 8 in Blk. 23 and within said designated territory buildings and other structures shall only be constructed of material as provided in Section I hereof.
Sec. III. Any person or corporation violating the provisions of this ordinance shall on conviction be fined in a sum not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, and may be proceeded against by injunction to forbid the construction of forbidden buildings.
Sec. IV. Ordinance No. 105 of the Revised Ordinances of 1900 of the City of Troy designating certain fire limits is hereby repealed.
Sec. V. This ordinance shall be in full force from and after its publication in the Kansas Chief.
