An Ordinance Relating to Certain Nuisances.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
SEC. 1. That the owner or possessor of any animal which may die within the city shall, within twenty-four hours thereafter, cause the carcass to be removed beyond the limits of the city, or cause the same to be buried. Any person violating this section shall be deemed guilty of a nuisance, and upon conviction shall be fined in a sum not more than one hundred dollars.
SEC. 2. Any person who shall, within this city, suffer any offal, manure, filth, rubbish, or any foul or decaying animal or vegetable matter to be discharged or thrown from his or her premises into or upon any street, alley, or public ground of this city, or shall throw or cause to be thrown tin cans or dead trees in or upon any street or alley of the city, shall be deemed guilty of maintaining or creating a nuisance, and shall be fined in a sum not exceeding fifty dollars.
SEC. 3. Any person or persons who shall keep or permit to remain upon his or her premises any filth, offal, foul or decaying animal or vegetable matter so as to cause or create any foul, unhealthy, or offensive smells in the vicinity; or if any person shall engage in or carry on any business upon his or her premises, or premises occupied by such person, that shall cause or produce noxious, unhealthy, disagreeable, or offensive smells in the neighborhood, to the annoyance of persons in the vicinity, shall be deemed guilty of creating or maintaining a nuisance in the city, and shall be subject to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars, and shall be subject to a like fine for every five days thereafter that said nuisance shall continue.
SEC. 4. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its publication in pamphlet form.
