Ordinance No. 140

An ordinance providing an election to vote on the proposition to issue bonds for the purpose of purchasing and constructing works for supplying the City of Troy, and its inhabitants, with electrical lights.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:

Sec. I. That there be held an election on Thursday, March 24, 1910, in the City of Troy, Doniphan County, Kansas, at the Council Room in the Court House in said City of Troy, for the purpose of submitting to the qualified electors of said City of Troy a proposition to issue bonds of said City of Troy to the amount of $15,000, in accordance with the laws of the State of Kansas, Chapter 101, Laws of 1905, for purchasing and constructing works for supplying the City of Troy and its inhabitants with electrical lights.

Sec. II. The Mayor and City Clerk of said City of Troy are hereby directed, authorized and empowered to give due and legal notice of the time and place of holding said election, as is required by law.

Sec. III. The Mayor, with the approval of the Council, is hereby directed to designate from the Council three persons to act as judges of said election, and the Council shall designate two citizens, not members of the Council, to act as clerks of said election.

Sec. IV. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its publication in the Weekly Kansas Chief.
