Ordinance No. 134
An ordinance relating to the obstructing streets, alleys and sidewalks.
Be it Ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Sec. I. It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct any thoroughfare or sidewalk in the City of Troy by placing or causing said pavement or sidewalks, or permitting to be placed on the pavement or sidewalk in front of his or her premises, any boxes, barrels, wood, merchandise, dirt or other things.
Sec. II. It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct the following streets and parts of streets in the City of Troy, to-wit: all that part of Main street north from Pine street to Walnut street; all that part of Poplar street between Main street and Liberty street; all that part of Liberty street between Walnut street and Chestnut street; and all that part of Chestnut street between Liberty street and Main street, by placing in said streets or parts of streets any boxes, barrels, wood, merchandise or any other thing.
Sec. III. It shall be unlawful for any person to obstruct the travel of any of the streets or alleys in the City of Troy, except those parts of streets set out and described in Section 2 of this ordinance, or any of the alleys of said city, by placing in said streets or alleys, or causing to be so as to obstruct the travel, any box, barrel, wood, merchandise or other thing.
Sec. IV. Any person violating any of the provisions of this ordinance shall be fined in any sum not less than two dollars ($2.00), nor more than twenty dollars ($20.00).
Sec. V. Section fourteen (14) of article three, page 6, of the revised ordinances is hereby repealed.
Sec. VI. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its publication in the Weekly Kansas Chief.
