Billiard Halls and Bowling Alleys

An Ordinance Relating to the License of Billiard Halls and Bowling Alleys, and Repealing Ordinances Nos. 13, 69, 70 and 79 of the Original Ordinances.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:

SEC. 1. It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to keep open in the City of Troy any bowling alley or billiard hall, or any place where billiards or pool are played, without first having obtained a license therefor from the City of Troy.

SEC. 2. That before any person shall keep open any bowling alley, billiard hall, or any place where billiards or pool are played for pay or compensation, such person or persons shall obtain the consent of the Mayor and Councilmen of said city for such license, and shall pay to the Treasurer of said city the sum of three hundred dollars per annum therefor, payable quarterly in advance; and on such consent being obtained, and such payment being made, it shall be the duty of the City Clerk to issue to such person or persons a license to keep such bowling alley or billiard hall in such city.

SEC. 3. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined in a sum not less than twenty-five nor more than fifty dollars.

SEC. 4. Ordinances Nos. 13, 69, 70 and 79 are hereby repealed.

SEC. 5. This ordinance shall take effect from and after its publication in pamphlet form.
