Ordinance No. 127

An Ordinance Regulating the Sale of Goods by Itinerant Vendors.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Kansas:

Section 1

It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, or corporation to carry on a trade in goods, wares, or merchandise in the City of Troy, either by auction or otherwise, where such business is not intended to be permanently located in the city or operated there for a period shorter than six months, without first obtaining a license from the owner or manager of a business house in the city as provided by ordinance, and paying five dollars ($5.00) for each day such business is operated in the city.

Section 2

Any person, firm, or corporation violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than twenty dollars ($20.00) nor more than fifty dollars ($50.00), together with costs, and be confined in the city jail until the fine and costs are paid.

Section 3

This ordinance shall be in force from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.
