Ordinance No. 126
An Ordinance Prohibiting the Distribution of Handbills and Circulars on the Streets of the City of Troy.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Kansas:
Section 1.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to distribute or scatter, or cause to be distributed or scattered, in the City of Troy, any samples of packages of medicine, food, papers, circulars (with the exception of newspapers distributed to subscribers), or any other article or thing whatsoever.
Section 2.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to allow or permit papers or other debris to be scattered or left in the streets of the city.
Section 3.
Any person who violates the provisions of either section of this ordinance shall, upon conviction, be fined not less than five dollars ($5.00), together with costs, and shall be confined in the city jail until the fine is paid.
Section 4
This ordinance shall take effect from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.
