Ordinance No. 120
An Ordinance Establishing the Grade of Main Street and Liberty Street in the City of Troy.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy, Kansas:
Section 1.
The grade of Main Street, beginning at the south line of Chestnut Street and extending south to intersect the line forming the north boundary line of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company depot, is hereby established as follows:
Beginning on the south line of Chestnut Street, at the intersection of the east line of Main Street, elevation 1140.5 feet, and with the intersection of the west line of Main Street, elevation 1137.3 feet; thence south on a plane 40 feet and 4 inches, elevation 1140.2 feet on east side of street and elevation 1137.8 feet on west side of street; thence south on a plane 109 feet 8 inches to the middle of the alley, elevation 1136.54 feet on east side of street and elevation 1136.34 feet on west side of street; thence south 10 feet to the alley; thence south on a plane 140 feet to Poplar Street, elevation 1132.66 feet on east side of street and elevation 1126.95 feet on west side of street; thence south on a plane to the north line of Ash Street, elevation 1110.20 feet on east side of street and elevation 1110.01 feet on west side of street; thence south on a plane across State Street to the south line thereof, elevation 1100.05 feet on east side and elevation 1098.1 feet on the west side; thence south on a plane 20 feet, elevation 1095.20 feet on east side of street and elevation 1094.98 feet on west side; thence south on a plane 89 feet 9 inches to the St. Joseph & Grand Island Railroad Company depot, elevation 1093.06 feet on east side of street.
Section 2.
The grade of Liberty Street, beginning at the south line of Chestnut Street and extending south to intersect the boundary line of the St. Joseph & Grand Island Railroad Company depot and city limits, is hereby established as follows:
Beginning on the south line of Chestnut Street, at the intersection of the east line of Liberty Street.
The grade of Liberty Street, continuing south from Chestnut Street, is established as follows:
- Elevation 1142.8 feet at the point described.
- Thence south on a plane 140 feet, elevation 1142.4 feet on the east side of the street and 1142.5 feet on the west side.
- Thence south 20 feet across the alley on a level.
- Thence south on a plane to Poplar Street, elevation 1138.4 feet on both sides.
- Thence south on a plane to the south line of Poplar Street, elevation 1136.1 feet on both sides.
- Thence south on a plane 200 feet to State Street, elevation 1108.4 feet on both sides.
- Thence south on a plane to the south line of State Street, elevation 1106.2 feet on both sides.
- Thence south on a plane 80 feet to the side track of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company, elevation 1093.4 feet.
- Thence south on a plane across the side track, elevation 1093.13 feet.
- Thence south on a plane 10½ feet to the main track of the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad Company, elevation 1092.22 feet.
- Thence south on a plane across the main track, elevation 1092.45 feet.
- Thence south on a plane 24 feet 8 inches, elevation 1088.78 feet.
- Thence descend on a 1.3-foot drop for one bench step.
- Thence south on a plane 3 feet 9 inches to the side track of the St. Joseph & Grand Island Railroad Company, elevation 1087.79 feet.
- Thence south on a plane across the side track, elevation 1087.8 feet.
- Thence south on a level to the depot of said company.
Section 3
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in The Weekly Kansas Chief.
