Ordinance No. 108

An Ordinance to Prevent Gambling, and to Provide a Penalty for the Same.

Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:

Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person to bet or wager money or anything of value upon any game, gaming table, gambling device, or upon the result of any wheel or other device; or by throwing dice; or upon the result of any game of skill or chance, whether with dice or other things; or to hazard money or property upon chance, to be determined by means of any gambling device; or to bet money upon any game played by or with any kind of gambling device.

Section 2. Every person who shall violate any of the provisions of this ordinance, or any part thereof, shall, upon conviction, be fined in a sum of not less than ten dollars ($10.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).

Section 3. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in pamphlet form.
