Ordinance No. 105
An Ordinance Relative to Buildings on Lots Fronting on the Public Square, and Repealing Ordinance No. 8 of the Revised Ordinances of 1878 and Ordinance No. 78.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the City of Troy:
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person or persons to put, erect, construct, or build any frame or other building, except one constructed of brick, stone, or other incombustible material, upon the lots on the east side of the public square, to wit: Lots One (1), Two (2), Three (3), Four (4), and Five (5), in Block Twenty-three (23), and Lot Twelve (12), in Block Twenty-four (24).
Section 2. That any person or persons violating the provisions of this ordinance shall, upon conviction before the Police Judge, be fined not less than one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than two hundred dollars ($200.00).
Section 3. That any such building so erected or built contrary to the provisions of this ordinance shall be, and is hereby declared to be, a nuisance, and shall be abated under the direction of the City Marshal, without delay, at the cost of the owner thereof.
Section 4. That Ordinance No. 8 of the Revised Ordinances of 1878 and Ordinance No. 78 be, and the same are hereby, repealed.
Section 5. This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in pamphlet form.
